How can counselling help me?
Counselling gives you a chance to be heard and to give voice to what is troubling you, in a safe environment. The counselling relationship is key and I will aim to develop a relationship where you are not judged and able to explore your own story, strengths and challenges. I firmly believe that you are the expert on your own life and will support you in finding your next steps or coming to terms with how things currently are for you. I have seen counselling help people increase their self-esteem, deal with anxiety and depression, work through relationship issues and gain insights into themselves. I offer a human connection, warmth and common sense, which I believe cannot be matched by AI.
How do I contact you?
email me at marianwillonercounselling@gmail.com
text me on 07935 675598 or leave me a voicemail and I’ll call you back
What are your fees?
£60 – £90 per session
How do I pay?
I will ask you to pay by bank transfer. I will give you details at our initial session.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 48 hours’ notice for cancellation. If less notice than this is given, the normal fee will be charged. It is not possible to book/attend a further session until this fee has been paid. However, if you have an emergency which prevents you attending, do let me know and I will be understanding.
How long are appointments?
Appointments are usually an hour long
How many appointments will I need?
There is no right answer to this question. It depends on what is bringing you to counselling, how the work progresses and what you decide. Some people find that a couple of sessions are all they need to feel ready to continue without counselling, whereas others may undertake months or even years of counselling. I have experience of both long-term and short-term work and both are helpful.
What can I expect at the initial appointment?
I will explain more of how I work and issues of privacy and confidentiality, answer questions you may have for me, and give you a chance to tell me what brings you to counselling. This first session is an opportunity for us both to decide if we would like to work together and, if we do, to contract on how we will proceed in terms of appointment times and other details.
Do you work with children and young people?
I currently offer appointments to clients aged 16 and over
Do you work with people anywhere in the world?
I mostly work with people in the UK, although I have worked with people based elsewhere in the world. Email me to see if I can work with you where you are.
